There was a time four or five years ago when for any media the easiest way to achieve the acclaim of 'progressive' was to write some essays on how Islam is becoming unsuitable for a better way to live with liberty. But now definition of there progressives has changed. Now even many Western analysts denote these third world exposure-freak 'progressives' to be largely containing the characteristics of Ziowest media group, who's main knock to the society is denomizing Islam.

Your quotation from Janakantha has ----ed up the whole thing. None other than reticent bums will believe something attached with some Janakantha, Dinkal, Inquilab reports.

And we are not zimmy at politician's hand. If we don't vote for them they will have to give up dreaming to walk in Jatiyo Sangsad balcony.

Salman,

If 1200 yards deep infiltration of neighbouring security forces to kill terrorists, is justified by you, then this discussion has no purpose. I also want to underline your lack of senses to distinguish the Durlavpur Battle and the one that took place in 1971. If the meanings found out of both the battles are same to you, then too this discussion will take us to nowhere.

You are to clarify BSF with your "they might wanna kill some terrorists" kind of saying. I mean what do you think of BSF? Do you think this is something like DEA operating in Bangkok to kick Viktor Bout's ass? Or Spetsnaz looking for Leonid Menin in Ukraine? We didn't mind 36 years ago because then your army weren't killing Bangladeshi people, which they do nowadays often. I am looking for your further ways to justify the Durlavpur infiltration. It looks like your BSF jawans were briefed that Loshkor-i-Toiba men wear BDR uniforms, is this what now you want to shout out to death now?

The image of your security apparatus has been badly battered in Mumbai attacks. Though you people are hailing the bravery of your dead soldiers (which I am doing too) there, you will understand how your high-command will be praised to deploy some hundreds of commandos to deal with only 9 terrorists, with this much of casualties. You better get done with kick-ass jobs on terrorists inside your own territory, then think of "might wanna kill some terrorists" jobs in Bangladesh. I never came to think about Mumbai's being this much unprotected. Hotels in that part of the city were almost sitting ducks to be fed with bullets, grenades and blood.

Your Intel people are working overnight to relate Bangladesh with your terrorist attacks, but to the date they have done nothing but burning thousands of cigarettes to ash.

Rone,

You should be proud of your uncle. May be he was not fighting any of the enemies of ours. May be he was not defending us from any ongoing attack. But he died while getting himself trained to defend us when we will be attacked. He was training to keep our sky guarded so that we with our dreams, with our lives, with our children can step ahead toward prosperity under that sky. He was returning to base after a training mission of air-to-surface firing. He could be the one to become fearsome to our enemies. But we have lost him. More than he lost his life, we lost our defender. All he did for us to feel safe, more than he did for his own. So both of you and me can be assured that Squadron Leader Morshed Hassan will get the honor that a hero gets after his demise; his family will get the proper care and protection that he provided us when he was alive and in action with the uniform of our proud Bangladesh Air Forces.

Thanks. Our intelligentsia is nakedly partisan and can be logically named as "hypocrites". Humayun Ahmed at his book <i>Jochhona o Jononir Golpo</i> told,

<blockquote><i>"Many writers have written books on 1971 liberation war but most of them were unfortunately out of everything at the dawn of March 27. There are no writings and no special event of March 27 described in their writings. Reading their books gives us an idea that their was no such man called Ziaur Rahman out there. Now the fact is, most of the people in literature and cultural movements consist of the ideology of Bangladesh Awami League. And they have failed to come out of their political ideology while writing some facts about a holy thing. A country whose spine was shattered after the March 27 crackdown, was brought right back to the position with hope, with winning the fear and with confidence after they heard the voice of a completely unknown person called Major Ziaur Rahman. This much moral boost-up at the declaration of an unknown person, is off the records in history, its rare."</i></blockquote>

This is some kind of a confession of Humayun Ahmed on behalf of the people of his profession. He is absolutely right. The unfortunate fact that he figured out to exist in 1971, still exists and still a major and vocal part of our <i>intelligentsia</i> is just some grossest wastes of this society. Its not that they are so because I am calling them in that name; they are so because their activities have urged us to call them so.

Thanks for your comments. You are always invited in my blog to put comments.

Xanthis,

Many thanks for the pdf file. Otherwise I would have missed the posting. You have pointed out the realities which our so called intelligentsia dont want to tell or recognize because of blind partisanship. Lets pray for the sunny days to come. Also, just one day after your posting, bnp declared the 4 points.

Aadil,

You are completely frustrated and your frustration is not irrational. Our politics have given us enough and enough rooms for getting frustrated and getting sore at the whole system. Honestly speaking, the initial moral support for the present undemocratic regime came just from this frustration, which may be they have exploited.

But your wish for this regime to stay is short sighted, or I will say hotheaded, no offense intended. We should be comparing the 17th year of democracy of many countries with ours, then I hope ourselves will be found not among the worsts, keeping the 1/11 piece of shit aside. We have lost a handful of points by going through an ousting of the democracy that happened in January 11, 2007. January 11, 2007, is one of the darkest days in the history of Bangladesh and our people are to realize this truth better after many years when we will be looking back to our past standing on a quite tranquil and stabilized democracy Inshallah.

•<blockquote>dont u think tarek rahman deserved all the beating he got for all the money he stole not just from the rich but also from the poor? he took away money from the homeless, from the hardworking living-in-less-than-a-dollar-a-day people….dont u think he deserves a beating when he has insulted very high ranking army officers and government officers???? dont u think he deserves a beating for using his mother’s influence to waste government funds and everything???</blockquote>

>A appreciate your investigating tendency. I hope, I wish some DGFI officials could read my post, then they could reach you to get some of the video clips of Tareq snatching money off the poor and rich and all along the government funds. Don't you have video clips that Tareq is stealing money?

•<blockquote>all the options we have are corrupts corrupts and more corrupts….so enlighten me with the fact who should i vote if this election comes??? our leaders claim that they are saints and all their family members are little angels….so what more options do we have next election???</blockquote>

>To my knowledge, total 84 of BNP and AL leaders were arrested between the timeline of Feb'07 to Oct'07. 23 were found to be really doing corruption whereas all others are awaited at jails due to cases against them have been real weak, immense lack of witnesses and bla bla bla. I just don't understand who have told you that all the options you got are corrupts. I am afraid do you only read the interviews of Gen. Moeen and Fakhruddin those they give to New York Times and Washington Post only?

•<blockquote>in a nation where a accused of a corruption case is given in a royal treatment after being freed in bail(e.g. khaleda zia) do u really want an election????</blockquote>

>You answer me one thing. Like, your father has your family car at his garage. Consider me to be a law enforcer, who have broken to your home to investigate a corruption charge of acquiring a plush car illegally that somebody has filed previous night. Now I will handover your father's case to DUDOK as your father is accused for corruption. Now he will be presented to the court and he will show all his papers that he legally acquires that car. Then, the court will have him heard, and his appeal of bail will be granted, or who knows may be he will be acquitted because papers are right. Later when DUDOK will appeal the case to High Court again, let think that the High Court bench built with two judges have also read all your father's paper and thinks he is innocent. And at this crucial judicial stage, the Appellate Division enters the scene with just granting a bail to your father, but not hearing his appeals of being innocent at all. But they accepts the bail appeal and he is released after a month long jail term.

Now, why won't he be deserving a royal treatment? Haven't god granted you the sense or knowledge to see distinctions between the words "accused" and "convicted"? Its insane if you can't distinguish an "accused" from a "convicted".

•<blockquote>i would rather have no election and let the present caretaker government stay…u say its undemocratic….i say bangladesh never had democracy….there has not been any active opposition in the parliament in the last 2 regimes….how can this be called a democracy???</blockquote>

>I won't reply your wish for the present government to stay. I want you to give one single reason for them to stay, then I will reply on that reason.

And about no democracy in parties. Who have barred the leaders from pulling democracy in? Who have barred the leader to be vocal against dynasty? Hafiz raised the voice, Mannan raised the voice, even Saifur sometimes raised the voice. Now, Hafiz having a quran sharif on his hand, has been saying for over a month, "Allah-r kosom ami kisu kori nai, ami kisu boli nai". Mannan Bhuiyan has been saying, "My reformation proposition has been misunderstood. Ami-o kisu kori nai." And Saifur Rahman deserted the 'reformation alma mater' before getting the degree. So why do you get sore on the parties for not having democracies, sue those leaders who once talked on it but now feel shy to talk on it.

Look at Awami League, all the decisions are being taken without the President. The president is not seen in no WC meeting. And she is not being able to return home. Isn't that what you called 'democracy in the party'? Basket full of democracy. Why to get sore of?

<blockquote>oh and one last question on your way???? do u want the legendary “aziz” as the elction commissionar???? if not name who should be put to the cec position so that u can regain ur trust on the election commission….</blockquote>

>Why there has been no strong demand of his resignation yet, can be asked. It can be argued too. It was not demanded, that’s where the distrust over this government lies, that everybody thinks a new CEC won’t be any better than the present one, all of them have been errand men, all of them will be errand men, without any personal ability.

Finally, this government never ever has/had the confidence of facing the aftermath of attempting a ban over student politics. This is the only and only reason that they've not made even such a noise. Because once a protest is triggered from DU, we will see a replay of what happened in late 90s. This is obvious. So whatever you will hear from present government, you will never hear of anything like they are taking side against student politics. They have been smart enough to take lesson from the failures of their predecessors.

Glaucoma,

To make a long explanation short I will say, negative impacts of student politics are considered to be felt as a divine breeze from the heaven if we compare this with the <i>negative impact</i> of banning student politics.

BDThinker,

<blockquote>It’s true that student politics have worked as a motivator of ‘Ershad Hotao’ movement at late 90s, but the student politics todays have become too much dirty. Student leaders are generally known as armed cadres and a medium to reach bigger leaders. In most of the cases, they are used for strong-arm jobs and to make the audience look like more crowded.</blockquote>

The reply to this is already given to the post, as I said,
<blockquote>Ban over the student politics will be a solution like ejecting eyes in order to cure an optical disease.</blockquote>

We had <i>worse</i> matters at the national stage politics. We were soar of it. Didn't we try to live better lives by having it barred in Sangsad Bhaban Sub-jail, Kashimpur Jail and elsewhere? Haven't we tried to find better lives by living under progressive civil society rather that hooligans in name politics? What we got? We've got ourselves counting how many times Iftekhar Ahmed has flown abroad, how many brother he has and how many of them have plundered Oriental Bank and how they have been overlooked by ACC. This is what we got. This is Bangladesh. You cannot throw away politics by calling it dirty. You have to get into it, then cleansing it, then applying it for having better lives. Same thing applies to student politics. Just teach yourself this, we are now seeing what has become the result of attempting to ban politics, and the result of attempts to ban student-politics will be worse, I suggest the word 'worst'.

My position is, I think banning the student politics will be no prudent thing. It'll be like building on failure rather than ambition for better days.

[...] We heard the Chief Adviser to say that the state of emergency will be lifted if necessary. But weeks later it has come clear that the present undemocratic and unelected 1/11 regime has no will to see Bangladeshi people with all of their freedom and rights to be in the polling centers. People must ask the politicians that what conditions they’ve been pushed through which earned Hossain Zillur Rahman the courage of hailing the state of emergency with the lamest excuse of ‘public security’. Who on this earth have ever heard of enforcing the state of emergency only for preserving the purity of polls and security of voters? [...]

A messy situation has followed Ashraf's statement. Rafiqul Haque says Zillur phoned him and apologized for whatever Ashraf said, but Zillu says he phoned but there was no apology. Now people are to decide who is to be believed.

I agree with you whatever you said at Unheard Voices board that Ashraf's statement was sort of road rage. But if we edit his statement and omit the shit he told about Rafiqul Haque, every shreds of his remarks over Anisul Haque is what millions of people will support. I won't shout that "who the hell he is to do this". But I must agree with somebody who asks an apolitical businessman to mind business rather than politics. If Anisul is so interested to do something about the politics, he definitely will have to face such a situation. If he is so keen have political probs resolved, he should have responded Ashraf sophisticatedly, which he has done like real shit.

By the way, the comparison of "EC's Back To Back Election" with "School with Back To Back Exams" was a good one.

<blockquote>why the current government is playing this sort of cheap trick to linger their ill motive to be in power for ever? why they want to make the with killer (or attempt to killer) and the victims. It is clear that BNP and Jamaat jote sharker made a plot to kill Hasina and her party leaders in row. Khaleda was the then head of the government and is supposed to be the head planner. now, how can you expect that the victim of that dread 21st august, sheikh hasina, can sit with the plotters in a meeting.</blockquote>

Oh god! do you have a video clip of BNP cabinet planning/approving/thinking/saying/aiding/anything the attempt on Sheikh Hasina? Where were you before? What you should do now is, to come to Dhaka immediately from wherever you are and have your precious video clip or whatever you have, submitted to the court for the judge to do better judgment over 21st August case. Otherwise killer Khaleda and her con men will survive!!!

Dear reader who named yourself Foreign Goat,
Don't have yourself relaxingly being flowed with the road-rage tide. Your saying "Khaleda was the then head of the government and is supposed to be the head planner", if we are so unfortunate to take this as a fact, then we have to believe that, all the time when we have bunked our classes in schools and colleges, our headmaster was head planner of these bunks because he was the head of those institutions. This is ridiculous, so is the logic you've shown to admit Khaleda Zia as a murderer.

Don't have yourself relaxingly being flowed with the road-rage tide. Comments in internet forums are expected to be better-thought and well-analyzed. Road-rages are to be shouted at roads, not in blogs.

By the way, don't get me wrong. Thanks for your comments.

Good to hear that you have recovered from your illness.

You've said the Apollo is good. Actually I've heard more bad reports about Apollo than Lab Aid. Now you may ask why I haven't put Apollo stories. The reason is, those stories I've just heard, as a rumor comes to someone. But this Lab Aid incident passed by so nearer to me that there was no confusion of mine whether this was true or not.

Hello Asif,

Great to hear about your condolences for the families of Shahid Havilder Hannan and Shahid Lance Nayek Krishna. Thanks for showing respects to our soldiers.

Keeping other of your complaints aside, I want to ask you a question. Don’t think I’ve forgone your complaints, I’m just throwing lights on something else.

According to one of your own news agencies, which is named Sify if I ain’t wrong, the Durlavpur shootout (where two soldiers of ours were murdered) took place above 1200 yards inside Bangladeshi territory. 1200 yards means nearly a mile. What is the reason that could be shown by BSF to infiltrate 1200 yards inside the neighbors territory? No hard feeling, this is a simple question.

Now let go through your getting sore about illegal Bangladeshis living in Bangladesh. First of all your statistics is completely arguable. I don't understand from where you have learnt there are 100,000 illegal Bangladeshis in India. Secondly, India in this world is better known as a place of cheap manpower and cheap labor, as Bangladesh is (rather Bangladesh's position is better than India in this case). Now, most of your and my countrymen leave their motherlands to have a lift in financial ground. They'll simply look for better living and a Bangladeshi is never expected to get a living in India that's is better or more respectable than what he gets in Bangladesh. So, your question that why they are coming to India, I really myself want to ask this same question to those Bangladeshis that, why are you stupids dying working in India? There are lot more better places in this world, will value your labor better.

You are also sore about Bangladeshi and Pakistanis are killing Indians. I am not too concerned and after all interested about intelligence and defense affairs between Indian and Pakistan. But I can strongly state that Bangladeshis nowhere are adamantly killing Indians. Like you did, some other of my Indian readers have been found to get sore about the Bangladeshi treatment to the corpses of Indian BSF jawans in the Battle of Roumari in 2001. To this date since February 2008, 28 Bangladeshis have lost their lives in hand of BSF. None of them were left in Bangladesh territory; bodies were taken to BSF camps and we had to be in Flag meetings for them. We had to beg for their bodies, we had to wait until fellow BSF officers get enough generous to handover the corpses of our countrymen. On the other hand, after the battle in 2001, your BSF members have been handed over by our villagers unconditionally. What do we see in war films? Enemy soldiers are lynched, their corpses are deformed, we cannot even recognize them as remains of human being. Did any of those happened to your BSF soldiers? No. They were simply handed over to be taken to their own homeland. Now, you think of ourselves, when we are not used to get back the corpses our countrymen those are kidnapped or killed by BSF soldiers. Our frontier citizens are constantly agitated. They have cattles to live on. Cows and buffaloes don’t understand what is international border. When they cross it, nobody stops them. But when their Bangladeshi owners closes near to the border to bring back their cattle, they are shot and their bodies are taken. What can we expect from them? What generosity and decency I should ask for from them?

I want you to see <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_Indian-Bangladeshi_border_conflict" rel="nofollow">detail about that battle</a>, where you can find the number of troops from both sides and hope you will understand who are killing whom.

Thanks for your comments. I hope you'll keep commenting in my posts in future. Your comments are always welcome.

India promotes clash with neghbours in border issues and they have been doing this for a long time with Bangladesh,Pakistan and China. This MUST be taken care of. This should stop.
================================================
border issues are everywhere in the world! Bangladeshi or pakistani never killed any Indian??? What about the bangladeshi people living illegally in India and doing crimes?? (there are more than 1Lakh bangladeshis living in Mumbai city alone...why they are coming here??) What about the terrorists killing innocent Indian people??
You people are showing proofs here?...lol...you can see the similiar proofs in Indian newspaper and news channels everyday...how the bangladeshi and pakistani terrorist are troubling and killing Indians!
Don't ask any bangladeshi/pakistani/indian media.....ask the "world" what they are thinking about YOU!
.........I'm an Indian. The two men who have been killed I have full respect for them. May God bless there souls! .....this should never happen again. Whether it is an Indian or Bangladeshi or Pakistani....no one has right to kill any innocent person. This is not good. Our relations should be more friendly.
