BSF kill two BDR men in Chapainawabganj

Fri, Jul 18th, 2008 2:30 pm BdST

Chapainawabganj, July 18 (bdnews24.com) – Indian border guards gunned down two members of Bangladesh Rifles on the Raghunathpur border in Chapainawabganj in the early hours of Friday, a BDR officer said.
The dead were identified as Havildar Abdul Hannan Sarkar, 55, and Lance Naik Krishnapada Saha, 28.
Lt-Col. Golam Kibria Md. Neyamat Ullah, commander of BDR 39 Battalion, told bdnews24.com that a group from the Indian Border Security Force entered about 1300 yards into Bangladesh territory in Durlavpur union, shortly after Thursday midnight.
On a tip, Abdul Hannan Sarkar along with a BDR team rushed to the area and challenged the BSF members.
But the Indian border guards opened fire on them killing the two BDR men at the scene, said Golam Kibria.
The incident has coincided
with a foreign secretary-level talk between Bangladesh and India in New Delhi, where border security is one of the issues on the agenda.
Senior BDR officials visited the scene.

You can have a look at the bottom of this blog post. This post is tagged under “India is a Bad Neighbor”. I’ve been using that tag since I’ve started blogging. Some ask me why I have created such a tag like this; what’s wrong between me and India. Now, the news story block-quoted above explains my reasons quite better.

Chapainawabganj is not a locality where fear of man-eater species has been discovered. That’s not a place where international hostile groups carry on their drills and commit acts of terrorism. There is no threat from Bangladeshi security apparatus to attack India. There is no exasperation presently taking place between Bangladesh & India diplomacy. There is no riot anywhere threatening lives of any people. It’s not like Bangladesh Riffles personals look like a target practice card. So, what can be shown as reason of shooting at security forces of a neighboring country? What can be the reason of gunning down two BDR personals at the border? Were those two BDR personals taking preparations of India invasion?

To the date, some thousands of Bangladeshi citizens have been murdered by Indian security wacko group BSF. Border area residents of Bangladesh have been experiencing the tyrannical acts of India since our liberation. Kidnapping, torturing in BSF camps, kidnapping young Bangladesh women and then raping them, are common tendencies of BSF. Being ranked as one of world’s grossest smuggling-friendly frontier military unit, BSF has been doing these crimes and have been becoming the reason of international tension for many years. As the present regime of Bangladesh is not a elected one, rather they have been working as a close ally of India in all senses, it’s not sure how’ll be the reply from the Bangladeshi authority side. The guy, who’s already flushed off all points of Vienna Convention down to his commode, is Indian Ambassador to Bangladesh, the guy named Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty. His words never reflect any prospect of friendship between two nations. So, we do not expect any ambitious reply from Bangladesh against this murder of two BDR personnels. All I can say is, those BDR jawans should have known before risking their lives that their authority is not going to take care of how many of them are killed.

It’s not like BSF will be able to do this much longer.

India promotes clash with neghbours in border issues and they have been doing this for a long time with Bangladesh,Pakistan and China. This MUST be taken care of. This should stop.

They have infiltrated nearly a mile inside Bangladeshi territory. It’s not like that that was a jungle. That was a populated area, resided by Bangladesh people and covered by BDR personnels. Those BSF murderers got in, talked to BDR men, heated up and opened fire. They have killed two of us. When this’ll end? What our brilliant diplomats and bureaucrats are doing over this? Will we be able to value two of our BDR jawans who’ve given their lives on duty over protecting our nation? It’s said the present regime of ours is run by the Army. Where the morale of our soldiers will go if they see the lives of two of them have been forgone unasked?

I personally think, this regime will be able to nothing of it. Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty’s sweeter words on the land of Bangladesh let us know how —less is our foreign desk and how casually he thinks of handling it out.

This government arrests Shamim Iskandar, Sayeed Hussain Chowdhury for violence of emergency rules. But they do nothing when two of our soldiers on uniform are murdered by foreign tyrants. A Colonel of BDR gives a wise-man type statement. Foreign Secretary says he is waiting for report. This is Bangladesh after 1/11.

The youth population of Bangladesh should be inspired by the sacrifice of Shahid Havilder Hannan & Shahid Lance Nayek Krishna. We are never to forget the sacrifice of two of our brave soldiers protecting our motherland.

border issues are everywhere in the world! Bangladeshi or pakistani never killed any Indian??? What about the bangladeshi people living illegally in India and doing crimes?? (there are more than 1Lakh bangladeshis living in Mumbai city alone…why they are coming here??) What about the terrorists killing innocent Indian people??
You people are showing proofs here?…lol…you can see the similiar proofs in Indian newspaper and news channels everyday…how the bangladeshi and pakistani terrorist are troubling and killing Indians!
Don’t ask any bangladeshi/pakistani/indian media…..ask the “world” what they are thinking about YOU!
………I’m an Indian. The two men who have been killed I have full respect for them. May God bless there souls! …..this should never happen again. Whether it is an Indian or Bangladeshi or Pakistani….no one has right to kill any innocent person. This is not good. Our relations should be more friendly.

    Hello Asif,

Great to hear about your condolences for the families of Shahid Havilder Hannan and Shahid Lance Nayek Krishna. Thanks for showing respects to our soldiers.

Keeping other of your complaints aside, I want to ask you a question. Don’t think I’ve forgone your complaints, I’m just throwing lights on something else.

According to one of your own news agencies, which is named Sify if I ain’t wrong, the Durlavpur shootout (where two soldiers of ours were murdered) took place above 1200 yards inside Bangladeshi territory. 1200 yards means nearly a mile. What is the reason that could be shown by BSF to infiltrate 1200 yards inside the neighbors territory? No hard feeling, this is a simple question.

Now let go through your getting sore about illegal Bangladeshis living in Bangladesh. First of all your statistics is completely arguable. I don’t understand from where you have learnt there are 100,000 illegal Bangladeshis in India. Secondly, India in this world is better known as a place of cheap manpower and cheap labor, as Bangladesh is (rather Bangladesh’s position is better than India in this case). Now, most of your and my countrymen leave their motherlands to have a lift in financial ground. They’ll simply look for better living and a Bangladeshi is never expected to get a living in India that’s is better or more respectable than what he gets in Bangladesh. So, your question that why they are coming to India, I really myself want to ask this same question to those Bangladeshis that, why are you stupids dying working in India? There are lot more better places in this world, will value your labor better.

You are also sore about Bangladeshi and Pakistanis are killing Indians. I am not too concerned and after all interested about intelligence and defense affairs between Indian and Pakistan. But I can strongly state that Bangladeshis nowhere are adamantly killing Indians. Like you did, some other of my Indian readers have been found to get sore about the Bangladeshi treatment to the corpses of Indian BSF jawans in the Battle of Roumari in 2001. To this date since February 2008, 28 Bangladeshis have lost their lives in hand of BSF. None of them were left in Bangladesh territory; bodies were taken to BSF camps and we had to be in Flag meetings for them. We had to beg for their bodies, we had to wait until fellow BSF officers get enough generous to handover the corpses of our countrymen. On the other hand, after the battle in 2001, your BSF members have been handed over by our villagers unconditionally. What do we see in war films? Enemy soldiers are lynched, their corpses are deformed, we cannot even recognize them as remains of human being. Did any of those happened to your BSF soldiers? No. They were simply handed over to be taken to their own homeland. Now, you think of ourselves, when we are not used to get back the corpses our countrymen those are kidnapped or killed by BSF soldiers. Our frontier citizens are constantly agitated. They have cattles to live on. Cows and buffaloes don’t understand what is international border. When they cross it, nobody stops them. But when their Bangladeshi owners closes near to the border to bring back their cattle, they are shot and their bodies are taken. What can we expect from them? What generosity and decency I should ask for from them?

I want you to see detail about that battle, where you can find the number of troops from both sides and hope you will understand who are killing whom.

Thanks for your comments. I hope you’ll keep commenting in my posts in future. Your comments are always welcome.

    Salman,

If 1200 yards deep infiltration of neighbouring security forces to kill terrorists, is justified by you, then this discussion has no purpose. I also want to underline your lack of senses to distinguish the Durlavpur Battle and the one that took place in 1971. If the meanings found out of both the battles are same to you, then too this discussion will take us to nowhere.

You are to clarify BSF with your “they might wanna kill some terrorists” kind of saying. I mean what do you think of BSF? Do you think this is something like DEA operating in Bangkok to kick Viktor Bout’s ass? Or Spetsnaz looking for Leonid Menin in Ukraine? We didn’t mind 36 years ago because then your army weren’t killing Bangladeshi people, which they do nowadays often. I am looking for your further ways to justify the Durlavpur infiltration. It looks like your BSF jawans were briefed that Loshkor-i-Toiba men wear BDR uniforms, is this what now you want to shout out to death now?

The image of your security apparatus has been badly battered in Mumbai attacks. Though you people are hailing the bravery of your dead soldiers (which I am doing too) there, you will understand how your high-command will be praised to deploy some hundreds of commandos to deal with only 9 terrorists, with this much of casualties. You better get done with kick-ass jobs on terrorists inside your own territory, then think of “might wanna kill some terrorists” jobs in Bangladesh. I never came to think about Mumbai’s being this much unprotected. Hotels in that part of the city were almost sitting ducks to be fed with bullets, grenades and blood.

Your Intel people are working overnight to relate Bangladesh with your terrorist attacks, but to the date they have done nothing but burning thousands of cigarettes to ash.
