This Regime’s Trouble Grid

Posted by xanthis on January 31, 2008

They arrested ex Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with utmost confidence, surrounded by ill-fated ambitious lawyers.

hasina_arrest.jpg
Treated her with absolute disrespect & disgrace. Look what they did with this ex Prime Minister,
untitled.jpg
Then facts came out like this,
hasina-innocent-3.jpg
They also arrested Tarique Rahman, with charges. Charges where plaintiff is known to nobody. About a year passed but not a shred has been shown that proves Tarique is guilty.
14bang1_600.jpg
They couldn’t prove and they tortured him. They had no plan to let him be visible to public. But Tayeba Mazumder’s death spoiled the plan. Tarique’s wounds and afflicted face came visible to public,
21999_untitled-1.jpg
Then facts again came like this,
tareq-hannan-innocent-3.jpg

Facts & stories those have rushed almost all of national media holds, our most honorable journalist and “bhodro chapabaj” Motiur Rahman has kept his under Stockholm Syndrome Prothom Alo out of reporting all of these. Instead of reporting this flap, Bangladesh’s one of lier newspaper Prothom Alo has published a counter story which totally protects this regime from the allegation of encouraging false cases against politicians. Prothom Alo said, “Azam J Chowdhury deliberately mentioned Sheikh Hasina’s name in his FIR”. I don’t know whether Prothom Alo has detected or not, the drastic fall of their circulation since the day they have started buttering, supporting & sustaining this military government.

For example, when Dhaka’s people were becoming victims of “Malam Party” & “Aggyan Party” almost every night, Prothom Alo published a graphical presentation on their first page, which showed that terrorism & crime has gone low after this regime came. These lier krauts did this thing just after a week of North South University’s faculty member Dewan Rahat Karim Mukul been killed by Aggyan Party at Airport Road. Prothom Alo didn’t report this incident even seriously. But this was a first page story when Mukul’s alleged murderers were arrested. “Dhoroni Dwidha Haw”

Three Stooges

The Three… (Fill in the Blank)

by “sotacit”. Published in Tacit. January 24, 2008.

3stooges.jpg

Three gentlemen who are not in control of their country: Hamid “Mayor of Kabul” Karzai, Pervez “Perv” Musharraf, and our own Dr. Fakhruddin. Karzai is of course, little more than a figurehead. Musharraf is busy pawning away ever-increasing chunks of Pakistani sovereignty in exchange of continued patronage from his masters, to the extent that plans for invading Pakistan, taking control of its nuclear weapons, and restructuring its armed forces have become common place rhetoric in the 2008 American presidential election. But sadly, it is Fakhruddin who combines the worst traits of the other two, he is also a figurehead, and his survival is also tied to elements that are entirely beyond his control.

We ought to have a leader elected with our popular mandate, a man or a woman who is intimately, inextricably connected with the fate of one hundred and fifty million Bangladeshis, not this charlatan. Let us hope, for all our sakes, we get one soon.

Updated:

On hearing from Dr. Phil that admission of having a problem is the first stage of solving that problem, President Karzai announced, exclusively to CNN, that he was indeed America’s puppet (look in the second-last line). Later in the men’s room, he was heard being congratulated by Tony Blair for officially joining the club.

Lab Aid Hospital : The Killing Machine

Posted by xanthis on January 21, 2008

Complaints of mistreatment at Lab Aid Hospital are nothing new. Mismanagement, over-billing, erred treatment, misbehavior of stuffs, have been told of for last few months due to some incidents centralizing Lab Aid Hospital. All these dirty things have been camouflaged by fancy advertisements with handsome models and TV jingles sung by Habib Wahid. But, by this time, people those have earned experience of getting treatment in Lab Aid Hospital, have come to know what dirty & shabby staffs are being hidden under those fancy commercials.

Death of The New Born Baby

Death of a new-born baby, whose parents come from Old Dhaka, claimed that their child died from erred Lab Aid treatment. The thing was simple and nothing legally wrong with Lab Aid still then. But some incidents those took place in Press Club while mourning parents preparing a press conference, led people to smell a rat. First of all, the booking of dead child’s parents for press conference floor at Press Club was suddenly canceled by authority and the authority was just unreachable, in phones & personally. Secondly, when that couple came to street in front of Press Club surrounded by people & journalists, some musclemen pushed them out of the scene forcefully after few minutes. Then, some reporters contacted that couple and came to know, that the Press Club president has been bribed off by Lab Aid authority and some musclemen hired by Lab Aid authority showed up & threatened them while appearing to streets. Even the local police was biased and probably well-fed by Lab Aid, denied to take any action though they have been approched. Then people understood the thing, this desperation of Lab Aid to suppress the total thing fully shows that that child has died from erred treatment of Lab Aid. Father of that child told to bdnews24, “We came to Lab Aid & were ready to pay to be served with the treatment which Lab Aid shows in their advertisements to offer. But look what they did to my child. They killed my child.”

Death of The Heart Patient, Father of a Former Student of My University

Read on the death of father of a former student of my university, who died from erred treatment of Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital. Look at the video that what hides behind fancy commercials. The video given bellow is of the Bed-9 of Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU), where his father died on the following day of taking this video. Bleeding is going on from stitches, wall of the room is too poor to make comment, the room is horribly shabby for Lab Aid. I know there are poorer hospitals which have more horrifying scenes than this. But this is the room and this is the treatment, for which Lab Aid charged Tk.5, 00,000 from the family. Read further on this which has been written by the son of this person. The son of the person, who died from erred treatment of Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital.

The person that you are watching on this video is not in this world anymore! He died on 11 Nov, 2007 at LabAid Cardiac Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh while treating under Prof.(Dr.) Baren Chakrabarti, Prof. (Dr.) M. Matiur Rahman (who is actually not a professor, but using this fancy title) and Prof. (Dr.) Ali Hossain (the best doctors in our country with some fancy fake title.!!!).We trusted the fancy ads of LabAid, also trusted the fancy titled doctors and nurses. But look at the real picture of Lab Aid’s CCU Bed No. 8. After the surgery they left my father on the bed without any proper attention. The Lab Aid doctors are so busy to catch another new CCU patient, which they forget about stitching the surgery area of the current patient. Look at the blood all over the bed! Look at.. how clean Lab Aid’s CCU unit is!

I raised my voice when I saw the real picture of LabAid. For raising my voice I got slapped on my face in front of the all the people by the Lab Aid G.M. Mr. Imran Chowdhury.I am sure Lab Aid doctors who were involve with my father’s treatment has got a good amount of share from the bill, but can they really tell that the hospital/or even the doctor’s has done a proper treatment for that helpless guy Mr. A. K. M. Fazlul Haq (my father)? He was just lying on the CCU Bed No. 8 helplessly for 15 days and expecting his sons, also the doctors will take care of him properly. We have done our part from the bottom of our heart; we were ready to spend all of our savings and everything to get a proper treatment for our father, because he is our father who took care of us properly. But Mr. or Ms. Lab Aid administrators….Have you guys taken care of my father properly? I am sure you did not, because I am the one who is one of your victims. How come a person who didn’t even have any heart surgery or any type of major surgery, but got a bill for 5 and Half lac taka (BD Tk. 5,00, 000.00, AU$8,155.00, US$7,288.00)???Dr. Lutfur Rahman (Head of LabAid’s Cardiac Hospital) (I am pointing you because you are the golden son of our country), do you guys still wanna claim that Heart Surgery is cheaper in Bangladesh now? On 11 Nov, 2007 when my auntie (Ms. Sharmin Naaz, Assistant Commissioner of Taxes, Bangladesh Govt.) went to see with you regarding my father’s bill that time you mentioned about your contribution in Bangladesh. You were also talking about you can make 1 lac take in a matter of second. Well, done Dr. Lutfor Rahman…Well done! We’re really proud of your contribution (?) to our country! Here is one of your biggest contributions to our country’s medical history which was published on the Daily Janakantha on 19 Dec, 2007 — (”Lab Aid has become a human killing machine” The Daily Janakantha, 19 Dec, 2007″)Life is very interesting Dr. Lutfor Rahman! When we lost our love ones then we feel for it, but then we forget about it. Instead of forgetting about my father’s death, I want to raise my voice against LabAid Cardiac Hospital and request all of you to “STOP GOING TO THE LabAID for any heart treatment” and wanna make those doctors to understand that they should not play with any humans life, because no matter how powerful or rich they could be, they will never be able to give a life back to a dead man’s life! So, STOP f..ing around with a human life, OKAI Dr. Lutfor Rahman, Prof (Dr.) Baren Chakraborty, also the others who are involve in this human killing business!

Please raise your voice against these criminals who play with human lives, not only that, they charge high for this dirty game. Please let as more friends and relatives as you can let know about this incident. Warn them about Lab Aid Hospital. Let them know what hides behind fancy commercials. You may do this or not, at least keep yourselves away of Lab Aid Hospital.

They Are Scared

Posted by xanthis on January 20, 2008

This is very natural that a regime that appeared & remains unlawfully will get scared of many things, scared of key people who led previous legal governments. This is very natural that this regime will be scared of two major families which have been leading this nation since independence. Now they are expressing their fear very nudely as it has become too clear to this nation through the DGFI drama has been played basing the death of Begum Tayeba Mazumder. They left no chance for Begum Zia, Tarique & Coco to meet each other. They were ready to do anything to keep this family from a reunion anyhow. Even Begum Zia was under surveillance while she was at her home, sitting in the drawing room. What this regime did on Tarique & Coco, the thing is very clear that the regime had no plan of bringing them to public anyhow. But the death of Tayeba Mazumder came unexpectedly as, torture & careless treatment on Tarique & Coco has been visible to public yesterday.

A quote story from Daily Jaijaidin:

quote.jpg

Gen. Moeen U Ahmed told at Chanel i that what happened in 28th October, 2006, a man was dancing on a corpse, he has never seen a thing like this before. But what this regime did to late mother of Begum Khaleda Zia, Tayeba Mazumder, was nothing better than playing with a corpse. Read Dancing on a Corpse by Rumi Ahmed and Khaleda Zia’s Choices by Tacit for details.

Somebody Raised Voice

Posted by xanthis on January 18, 2008

Dr. Anwar Hussain, detained President of Dhaka University Teacher’s Association (DUTA), has been produced to the court under the case, that has been filed by Director General of DGFI for violence of the “state of emergency”, a tool to suppress people’s voice as well as the democracy which has been held for over a year. If a ghost comes to your room every night in a month, that ghost will remain no more scary to you. You will be very much used to face that ghost and ultimately that ghost will be a custom to you, like a part of daily routine. The state of emergency has taken such place in Bangladeshi people’s hearts. And I am very doubtful about the effects of any “state of emergency” imposed in future.

Riots are daily issue of Pakistani people. Deaths are no more scary & important to Afghan people. Suicide attacks are too usual for Iraqi people and this regime has led us to a position to accompany Iraq, Afghanistan & Pakistan as, “state of emergency” has been almost “bostapocha” for Bangladeshi people. From now on, Bangladeshi people are not going to be effected any “state of emergency”, it has been too casual, too friendly nowadays.

I guess, Dr. Anwar Hussain, has showed his guts & courage to describe a real present Bangladesh in front of the court. He asked many questions to this regime. Questions, those may have come to minds of Bangladeshi people for many days. But we, bourgeois minded Bangladeshi people, have lost our voices, have forgot to protest. We look at tyrants taking over the hold of our nation, we say nothing. We look at tyrants suppressing and manipulating the media, we say nothing. We look at tyrants led the investment graph drastically falling down, we say nothing. But thank god we had somebody who said something, which reached to this regime, somebody raised voice.

I have quoted a report of Daily Sangbad, a story by Mahbubul Huq.

Those who have read this post, I highly recommend you to keep your reading for few minutes more, please go through the following link, which will let you know a little bit further on this issue due to the present situation of Bangladesh.

Torture

Posted by xanthis on January 10, 2008

by Rumi Ahmed. Published in In The Middle of Nowhere. January 9, 2008.
* * *
Newspaper reports today on Tareq Rahman’s allegations of physical torture while in remand.

‘I was kept blindfolded for 18 hours of the 24 hours of remand on December 31. I was not taken to a police station from the Dhaka Central Jail but somewhere else. I was tied up and suspended from the ceiling and tortured physically there while being kept blindfolded,’

Detained former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s son Tarique Rahman alleged in the court on Wednesday that he was tortured after being taken on remand.

‘When a politician like me is tortured inhumanly in remand, what can happen to the common people?’

Tarique, who is also senior joint secretary-general of the BNP, questioned the magistrate.

‘I want security for my life,’ he pleaded.

This blogger knows that this report will make many people very happy and also knows that many people will be saddened too. Instead of commenting on this report, this blogger prefers to remind all of the following poem,

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Arguably this poem, “First they came…” which is attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984), was written on the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group.

Men With Magic Scepters in Hand – Heads of World’s Key Intelligence Agencies

Posted by xanthis on January 7, 2008

A proverb in the defense world goes like; a governmental intelligence agency of a country is used to know god’s decision before saints execute that order. Top governmental intelligence agencies always require being few steps ahead of corresponding men or organizations. Specially, if we are talking about agencies like MI6 (UK), FSB (Russian Federation), CIA (USA), DGSE (France) etc. these security agencies mostly play with the fate of the world, fate of many nations. Coup d’états, installation or overthrowing of a government, sabotage, assassinations all of these operations have been directed by mentioned intelligence agencies since the global political round-up after World War II. Now, I am gonna let you know a little bit about those trusted and loyal men, who are right this time bosses of some of world’s most influential intelligence agencies. These men are hero to someone, some nations, sometimes villain to some nations. But after all, these men are one of few extremely trusted men of world leaders like George W. Bush, Vladimir Putin, Gordon Brown etc.

Nikolay Patrushev

patrushev.jpg150px-fsbsvg.png Nikolay Patrushev is the present Director General of FSB (formerly KGB), appointed in August 1999. Vladimir Putin was DG of FSB in 1998-99 and in August 1999, Putin was succeeded by Patrushev, then the Chief of the ‘Control Directorate of the Russian Presidential Administration’. Interesting thing is, before Patrushev, it was Putin again who was the Chief of CDRPA. This makes it very easy to assume that how important is Nikolay Patrushev in Putin Administration. One major reason, which let me like this man is, as a DG of a major intelligence agency like FSB (KGB), Patrushev is much concerned about Russian homeland security rather than biasing foreign relations like CIA keeps doing. As I understand and as facts go, most of CIA’s top appointments are made according to how ruthless, capitalist & commercial that person is. On the other hand, top most appointments of FSB (or KGB in Soviet era) are made according to one’s strength of nationalism and trustworthiness to the supreme leader, the President. Born in Leningrad in 1951, Patrushev is basically an Engineer, graduated from Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute. He was sworn in KGB in 1974, at a very sound timeline of cold-war due to Vietnam War. Being appointed in Moscow, Patrushev attended higher training courses of KGB under the USSR Council of Ministers. Patrushev also served the complicated bureaucratic circle of Soviet Union. During the dissolution of Soviet Union, he was appointed at the Foreign Ministry of Republic of Karelia.
500.jpg After KGB was dissolved and FSB formed, Patrushev held important administrative & strategic posts of FSB. He became Chief of FSB’s Internal Security Department in 1994 and held this position to the day he was appointed as FSB Director General by new Prime Minister Vladimir Putin then. Then after Putin became the President succeeding Boris Yeletsin in 2000, Patrushev became a very powerful & influential person among Russian presidential administration. Nikolay Patrushev is one of the most trusted & dependable men of President Putin, accompanied by Yevgeny Lisov, Dmitri Medvedev, Sergei Ivanov etc.

Director General of FSB :: Became in August 1999 :: Preceded by Vladimir Putin

Director of CDRPA :: Became in 1996 :: Preceded by Vladimir Putin :: Succeeded by Yevgeny Lisov (1999)

Sir John Scarlett

scarlett1663988645.jpg200px-sis1.gif Sir John Scarlett, KCMG, OBE, is the Director of British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), widely known as MI6, the organization which fictionally James Bond works for. Director Scarlett is one of memorable MI6 heads who has been passed through numerous international flaps in his career. Before being MI6’s head, Scarlett chaired the Cabinet Office of Joint Intelligence Committee in 2001. Notably, Scarlett was named the chief of JIC just 3 days prior to the 9/11 attack on World Trade Centre. So far my knowledge goes, Scarlett’s appointment as MI6 Chief was a sound issue of debate in House of Commons before he got appointed. But unquestionable support of Labor Party, specially Tony Blair, rewarded him with the post of MI6 head. As I guess, this was “more, Sir Scarlett wanted the post than the post wanted Sir Scarlett”. Born in 1948 in Oxford, Scarlett attended Epsom College & Magdalen College of Oxford for graduation and done with a 1st class in History in 1971. Scarlett was recruited to MI6 in 1972 and has been appointed to many key overseas MI6 Stations like Paris, Berlin, Moscow and Nairobi. In his MI6 career, John Scarlett held positions of MI6 Station Chiefs in Paris, Moscow & Nairobi.50805972.jpg After a flap between UK-Russia international relationhip, Russian Authority instructed MI6 to withdraw their station chief John Scarlett from Moscow in 1994. By then, Scarlett was withdrawn from Moscow and set in London. Prior to his appointment to JIC and MI6 as Director, John Scarlett was Director of Security & Public Affairs of MI6 and resigned in 2001, months earlier of his appointment in JIC.

John Scarlett has been issue of controversy several times in his career, notably in the murder case of British Weapon Specialist Dr. Kelly in 2003, winning the Knighthood award in 2004 and due to the appointment of head of MI6. John Scarlett is the intelligence executive who made the paper for Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2003 to justify British involvement in Iraq war which Blair submitted and cited to the House of Commons. John Scarlett was one of the grossest supporters of Iraq war while being the Chairman of JIC. In basic intelligence career, John Scarlett is a Russia affairs specialist, is fluent in Russian and held different posts in the MI6 Station and British High Commission in Moscow.

Chief of SIS (MI6) :: Became in May 2004 :: Preceded by Sir Richard Dearlove

Chairman of Cabinet Office of JIC :: Became in September 2001 :: Preceded by Julian Parkins :: Succeeded by Richard Mottram (2004)

Michael Hayden

487px-michael_hayden_cia_official_portrait.jpg510px-ciasvg.png General Michael Vincent Hayden has been appointed as the Director of CIA by President George W. Bush in 2006. His appointment has been a break for more than a decade-long non-military CIA Directorship. After five non-military Directors from 1993, President Bush has handed over the CIA scepter to ambitious General Hayden in 2006, the first military person Director of CIA in 15 years. Though Director Hayden was not related with CIA all along, for almost total of his military career he had to stick with numerous offices of military intelligence since his appointment as a Lieutenant in 1969. He missed for a little bit to be one of Vietnam War veterans in 1972. In his military career, he served in Air Intelligence in the US Station at Stuttgart, in the US Embassy in Bulgaria, Youngsan Army Garrison in Korea during Korean War & US Station at Guam. In 1999, President Bill Clinton appointed him as the Director of National Security Agency (NSA).

hayden_depdir_natint.jpgI see this man to be more commercial and capitalist, and virtually too fit to be the Director of Central Intelligence. If you do some homework on CIA activities during Vietnam War or Korean War, you will find that CIA cared about business much much deeper than National Security as, I see Michael Hayden could be a too fit Director of CIA in 60s & 70s, years of American commercial conservation & major moral & nervous defeat in Cold War. A major lift-up or the break in Hayden’s intelligence career took place after Bush won the Presidency for his second term; Hayden was appointed as the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence in 2005 and served in this post to the day of his appointment of Director of CIA. As I or anyone can understand, Director Hayden is a role model of some highly ambitious, ironic, cold-blooded, or may be a villain-type CIA Directors we can see in many thriller books or movies. Notably, Michael Hayden worked in the Foreign Intelligence Services Act (FISA) and NSA’s Domestic Telephone Database projects. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1945, Michael Hayden is the highest ranked military officer in USA to have an all along intelligence career. Being neutral officially, Michael Hayden is always supported by Republicans in the United States Senate whenever any propositions & bills passed through any Senate Comity ever. This indicates that personally Hayden is probably a supporter of Republican Party. As an intelligence big shot, Hayden is biased to increase domestic surveillance in United States and he has many critics at this state.

hayden_cia_nomination.jpgTimeline of Michael Hayden’s military career:
* June 2, 1967 — Second Lieutenant
* June 7, 1970 — First Lieutenant
* December 7, 1971 — Captain
* June 1, 1980 — Major
* February 1, 1985 — Lieutenant Colonel
* November 1, 1990 — Colonel
* September 1, 1993 — Brigadier General
* October 1, 1996 — Major General
* May 1, 1999 — Lieutenant General
* April 22, 2005 — General

A Bumpy Road to Free & Fair Election

Posted by xanthis on January 6, 2008

During some special events were progressing, acceptability of this controversial caretaker government has been seen to be questioned, assessed, argued & consequently hatred. Special events like,

• The attempt of popular insurrection of last August.
• Multiple series of price hikes.
• ‘Minus Two’ Formula.
• Illegitimate plots to dissolve unity of major political parties after the drastic failure of infamous ‘minus two’ formula. For example, attempted coup d’état in BNP presidium to install Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, Maj. Hafiz, Saifur Rahman and attempted coup d’état in Awami League presidium to install Amir Hussain Amu & Mukul Bose.
• Lack of transparency into the trial of political leaders & their families.
• Unlawful treatments with Sheikh Hasina & Begum Zia.
• Specially obstructing Begum Zia’s & Sheikh Hasina’s lawyers to rightfully meet them in many ways etc.
• Installation of high ranking military officials into key posts of many governmental and non-governmental organizations.
• Appointing its loyalists to important diplomatic positions. For example, Yasmin Murshed as High-commissioner to Pakistan, Fahim Munaim as High-commissioner to Canada & Debapriyo Bhattacharya in United Nations.
• Desperation to hold the state of emergency and lack of intention to lift it.
• Suppression & pressurization on head of state, the President, Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed.

The TakeoverAfter the famous or infamous 1/11, facts mentioned above were all in all, which have lain down on this nation. I have heard many people to talk like, “do you like to go back to days of fighting politicians and streets full of tear smoke instead of this neutral (?) Caretaker government?” or, “do you want to go back to days when MPs were looting the national fund with various excuses?” These are such type of questions which’s answer is always known, a strong “no”. Not only me, it won’t be any mentally fit human being who will be willing to go back to those days. But if somebody asks me, “do you want to live in this present situation, under nearly a military rule & state of emergency for some more years, considering all facts mentioned above and admitting those are happening?” The answer is another strong “no”. This question part has been told by the editor of The Daily NewAge, Mr. Nurul Kabir, while being interviewed by another prominent journalist Shyamol Dutta in a news analysis program broadcasted in ATN Bangla. The next week, it will be January 11, 2008. A year has passed after this regime has lain down on this nation. A year has past after the kingpins of this regime told that the state of emergency is a demand of the situation and is to be lifted immediately after its felt as a suitable time. Has the suitable time not appeared yet? What calls in a ’state of emergency’ in a country? That is the fear of loss of lives & properties due to any insurgence. And when the insurgence is treated to an end, the emergency has no logic to be held anymore.

State of emergency is a term of constitution which is used for the greater interest of a nation. But in Bangladesh, the ’state of emergency’ is being seen to be used for some different reasons, some reasons which in long run do not interest this nation after all.

May be initially this was imposed for a purpose which concerns about the interest of the country, but as time is passing on & on, people are about to ask questions that why this nation is under ’state of emergency’ for a year. In a third world country like Bangladesh, thing was going good as she has seen democratic governments for 15 years. So it won’t be a provider of a better future for Bangladesh if she is run by an undemocratic government for more than three months, the validity period of an undemocratic government according to the constitution. Yes, now an undemocratic government can validate itself, if it appears in such situation where people of the country are rushed by fury, like this 1/11 military regime took over last year; when Bangladesh was in the way of being a failed state, the nation was in great danger. This regime appeared by an underground coup d’état inside Bangabhaban and delivered words for a free & fair election within least possible time.

Two Brave SoulsBut, right this moment, after a year from the appearance, all this regime did, were those after all related with arranging a free fair election? Was the DGFI interference in BNP inner matters important for free fair election? Was installation of Mukul-Amu’s betrayer triad, important for free fair election? Is obstructing Hasina’s lawyers to meet her, the way to a fair election? Is it very important to set hundreds of military men in governmental key posts? Is it needed for a fair election? What is an election? Whose game is it? It’s political parties, who will campaign for the election and will make public relations. And this entire process of political parties to reach people is halted by the state of emergency. Barrister Mainul Hussain, Gen. Matin, even the chief advisor, whenever these persons are asked about the upcoming election, they just finger to the Election Commission. Why is that?

Is it is only Election Commission who has all the things to do about a general election? Election Commission is recruiting men, making voters’ list etc. Very good, but all of these are for what? Definitely for people, for people will cast their votes. Now the question is, people will cast their vote for whom, for what? They will vote for political parties. Then political parties, its activities and activists are the major thing for a free fair election, as much as public, as much as the election commission, as much as nation’s greater interest. Now, what this regime is doing is obstructing political parties to reach people, reach its activists.

Barrister MainulAnother thing, which sounds too unethical and illegitimate to me, are some of Barrister Mainul’s speeches. He talks about lifting state of emergency. He is asked about it and he answers it in way as he is the boss of it. By the way, who the hell Barrister Mainul is to impose or to lift state of emergency? He says, when its time, the regime will lift state of emergency. It’s not this caretaker government who imposes or lifts state of emergency. It’s the head of the state, the president, who imposes it and who lifts it.

But now it’s quite clear to people that this is not the President who is taking all presidential decisions from Bangabhaban. This is somebody other than the President and any of his civil-admin associates in Bangabhaban.

President IajuddinSo, this is somebody else, who has been an obstacle on the way of lifting the state of emergency. And this reality, this truth, this fact that the presidential decisions are not being made by the president himself, rather these are being made by the high power syndicate which is running this regime, came by the mouth of Barrister Mainul. He talks rubbish sometimes because it is rubbish apart, about what is going on inside this regime right this time. An illogical hold of state of emergency is

• Violation of human rights
• Contradictory to democratic terms
• Threat to public interest
• Threat for political parties to reach people
• Violation of press freedom
• Violation of international image of the nation
• Obstacle to resettle democracy
• An ill attempt of validating temporary autocracy/military-rule, as well as permanent autocracy in long run
• Impulsion of one’s decision over the nation, which may not interests the nation

This regime talked about democracy, free press, human rights & neutrality. But consequence of each step of this regime is all along contradictory to its words. None of those basic qualities like press freedom, human rights, democracy can be practiced when an undemocratic government exists, when the regime itself is validated and secured by ’state of emergency’. Public’s distrust on political parties, corruption of political leaders, insurgence around the nation, these were reasons of the appearance of this regime through a ’state of emergency’.

Now, distrust of people & dishonesty of politicians are two basic things, which have been completely exploited by this regime, since they have derailed from their main course, the target to run a free & fair election. A free & fair election under governance of this regime is absolutely impossible & incredible, if present state of this regime goes on.

This regime called for reformation inside political parties. Yes, political reformation from party roots is one of most important things for further prosperity of Bangladesh. But, a wipe-out reformation is also required for this present regime, which is believed to hold next general election. And most initial and most important step to free fair election roadmap should be the lifting of the ’state of emergency’, a most basic obstacle to the normalcy of a nation. Otherwise, the road to a free and fair election will be too bumpy to reach there unwounded, or it can be dead by then.

By the way, in the middle of writing this post, I found Gen. Moeen to promise that the general election is to be held free & fair as scheduled, he promised that. Well, let see how the regime mobilizes itself after the call of the General.
